Dynamic Image Gallery just a simple image gallery that is fully dynamic.. meaning that the images load in from a directory and the text loads in from a plain text file.. YOU DO NOT NEED FLASH... YOU DO NOT HAVE TO EDIT XML... YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE PHP... all you need to do is resize & rename your images and thumbnails and put them in the right folders, edit the txt files in the text folder to change the gallery title and description.... then upload all of the files and folders to your site... thats it... if you want to change a picture or two just upload the new images into the right folder (keep the filenames the same) and your done... if you want to change the title or description just edit the txt files in the text folder... specs and notes --------------------------------------------- == you must keep all filenames as they are.. do not change them == ALL JPGs NEED TO BE SAVED AS NON-PROGRESSIVE (most digital cameras save as non-progressive and most image editing software has options for saving as non-progressive) because Flash can't display progressive JPGs == large images should fit into a 544x408px box == thumbnail images should fit into a 40x40px box == if you are on a Mac.. all of the images need to have the .jpg extention and the .txt for the text files programs that make things even easier (for windows) --------------------------------------------- Microsoft image resizer power toy (FREE) - A quick way to resize a folder of images (read more about it.. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx ) http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe AF 5 File Renamer (FREE) - a quick and easy way to rename files in a folder http://www.fauland.com/af5.htm files & folders and what they are --------------------------------------------- images_large - folder for large images images_thumbs - folder for thumnails text - folder for the text files to set the title and description alternate.gif - get macromedia flash button in case someone goes to your gallery and they don't have flash version 6 or higher flash_detection.swf - the flash file that detects what version of Flash the viewer has and either sends them on to the site or if they don't have the right version of Flash sends them to the alternate page so they can download the new version. ols_gallery_v2.html - should be treated like the index page this is the page that holds the flash detection ols_gallery_v2.swf - the main Flash file ols_gallery_v2_alternate.html - the page that holds the information to get the newest version of the Flash player ols_gallery_v2_content.html - the actual html page that holds the Flash gallery (this is the page you would edit if you wanted to change the pages background or add anything to the html page.. ie: buttons, links, banner, logo. ect. have questions? need help? --------------------------------------------- email me at ... briguy@onelinestudio.com (and put in the subject line: image gallery )
